Event Details

Join Uri L'Tzedek on Sunday, September 18th Uri L’Tzedek will be hosting its first Domestic Violence Awareness Conference from 10am-4:00pm at the Lincoln Square Synagogue, located at 200 Amsterdam Ave (at 69th St.), to raise awareness about domestic violence in the Jewish community. Orthodox Jewish households also experience domestic violence and through education and activism we can continue to break the cycle that has affected both women and men. Learn how to identify abusive behaviors, understand the psychology behind abuse, and what steps you can take to help yourself or your friends.

The speakers at the conference include many experts in the field, including Blu Greenberg, the Founding President of the Jewish Orthodox Feminist Alliance (JOFA), Shana Frydman, LCSW Director, Family Violence Services at MET Council, Sandra Rapoport, Author of Biblical Seductions and Jeremy Stern, the Executive Director of the Organization for the Resolution of Agunot (ORA), among others. Other partnering organizations include, Project SARAH, Jewish Women’s International (JWI) and Jewish Women’s Foundation of New York (JWFNY).

There will be a dairy lunch and there is a suggested donation of $10.
